Google is making it clear that traditional Search and AI-powered Search are becoming one unified experience. Here are my five key takeaways from the call:

1. Traditional Search and AI Search Are Merging: Google plans to create a seamless experience across traditional search results, AI Overviews and AI Mode.

2. Agentic Search Is the Next Evolution: Google is moving beyond answering questions toward AI agents that can complete tasks and take actions on behalf of users.

3. User Experience Comes Before Monetization: Google is prioritizing AI Mode adoption and engagement before expanding advertising opportunities.

4. SEO Strategies Must Evolve: As AI-powered experiences become more prominent, brands will need to prioritize AI visibility, authoritative content and discoverability beyond traditional organic rankings.

5. New Opportunities for Brands Are Emerging: Connected Apps and AI agents could change how consumers discover, interact with and purchase from businesses directly through Search.

My biggest takeaway: SEO isn’t disappearing, but its role is expanding. Success will increasingly depend on how effectively brands position themselves across traditional search, AI-generated answers and agentic experiences.
